Dinosaurs and Space

These miniatyre dinosaur pictures were taken in Naturhistoriska Museet in Stockholm. Just so tacky, have to love them.

Here's a picture from the same day when I went to Green House in Stockholm. It's from a fountain but reminds a bit like Horse Head Nebula (a picture below) in Orion's belt... I do admit photoshopping some colours here though...! :)

Last week I was working in Seoul, Korea. So fun! :) With my spare time I tried to take as much pictures as possible. Here's a mini glimpse for stuff I found in the markets.

A captain whitout a ship, an adventurer....

Corto Maltese is one of my all time favorite characters. This mysterious adventurer-sailor was created by legendary comic artist Hugo Pratt in 1967 and is a classic of the European comic art. I just love the drawing style and use of line and contrast.

Corto Maltese is a the last romantic hero, idealist, anarchist, a pirate and a man who creates his own fate. I think I've always had a small crush on him....

Q-Theatre in Helsinki is doing a  play based on the Corto Maltese graphic novels, I hope it will do justice to the series.

ps. Another great European classic comic artist worth getting to know is Milo Manara.....

Science is Fiction: Liquid Crystals

I came across this amazingly odd and beautiful video about liquid crystals in Helsinki Documentary Film Festival DOCPOINT. French filmmaker Jean Painlevé created this psychedelic vision in 1978 and the music is the last work of french composer FRANÇOIS DE ROUBAIX. Painlevé is famous for surrealistic science and nature films, which are quite unique.

Both worth a closer look!

Svenska Hollywoodfruar 1960

Just before Christmast I did some vintage shopping and got my hands on an old Swedish magazine, SE, which I found from a bookstore in the Old city of Stockholm. I've been wanting to post it earlier and now finally managed share with you this quite funny article from year 1960 about Swedish girls making it in Hollywood. Things haven't changed that much from those times.
